Mentor Link urgently needs volunteers Mentors from the Worcester area to support vulnerable and distressed children and young people facing social and emotional issues, which are impacting on themselves and their engagement in learning.
We are now delivering a new project based on supporting children back into learning following periods of absence. The aim of this project is to provide support to children at the earliest opportunity where there are issues with school avoidance based on social and emotional needs, and maintain the family’s contact with the schools.
Mentor Peter says:
I volunteer because I feel the children and young people I meet are not to blame for their situation and so deserve any help I can give.
If you can spare an hour or two per week to help support vulnerable children and young people in your local area, and are able to commit to a minimum of 6 months volunteering, we would like to hear from you.
Life experiences are essential. You need to be a good listener, patient and enjoy working with children and young people.
Telephone head office on 01299 822336, email enquiries@mentorlink.org.uk, or visit here.
We welcome enquiries from schools, parents and organisations in the area who want to hear about our services.
We are a Safer Recruiter so the role is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance and two character references.
Travel expenses paid. Training provided, as we as ongoing training and support.
